What this website records

Every page request is logged with your IP address, the time, which page, and which browser you're using. That log is how we can tell whether an ad actually brought someone to the game server instead of guessing.

What Reddit is told

The home page and the connect page load Reddit's advertising script. If you got here from one of our Reddit ads, the link carries a Reddit click id. Reddit is told that you visited and whether you pressed Launch Rust and Join, so we can measure whether the ads are worth running. Reddit is never sent your name, your email, or your Steam account.

How to stop it

• Use a content blocker. It stops Reddit's script from loading and nothing on the page breaks.
• Turn off ad personalization in your Reddit account settings.
• Skip the website. Type connect thecouch.lol in game and none of the above ever happens.
